George Clewis

George Curtis Clewis, Jr., 76, of Gastonia, passed away on August 14, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 28, 1938 in Kershaw County, SC to the late Laney Jordan and George Curtis Clewis, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Pearlie Moore Clewis.

George is survived by daughters Myra Usinger and husband Alan, and Traci Pruitt; son Daniel Pruitt, II; grandchildren Kimberly Ann Guy; great-grandchildren Dylan Lee Clark and Chase Manson; brothers Albert and Elbert Clewis; sister Francis Hammonds.

His funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, at the chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, with Rev. Scott Whitener officiating.

Interment will follow in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
