KENNETH PATTERSON

George Kenneth Patterson 76, of Bessemer City, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 21, 1941 in Gaston County, Mr. Patterson was the son of the late Bill and Willie Mae Kerns Patterson.

Mr. Patterson worked dutifully for Wix Filters for 44 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. After being retired for a year, he was called back to Wix as a Quality Inspector. He was in that position for 4 years. He was a lifelong member of Antioch Lutheran Church, and served as Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years. In addition to his church service, he also served in the U. S. Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, working on the family farm, going antiquing with his wife, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith Freeman Patterson of the home; daughter Lisa Patterson Braswell, and husband Bob Braswell of Gastonia; son Kenny Patterson and wife Krissy Patterson of Bessemer City; granddaughter Leah Mashaw and husband Jerry Mashaw; grandson Josh Braswell; grandson Aaron Miller; granddaughter Alexis Miller; great granddaughter Aubrie Mashaw; sister Betty Patterson McIntyre, and niecs and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Antioch Lutheran Church with Pastor George Rhyne officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremations Services.

Interment will take place at Antioch Lutheran Church Cemetery Garden of Peace.
