Glenn Rhyne

Glenn Harold Rhyne, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 18, 2014 at home. He was born December 14, 1925 in Gaston County, NC, to the late Earl and Katie Lineberger Rhyne.

Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons; Steve Rhyne and Patrick "Hack" Rhyne; brothers, Earl Jr., Hoffman, Norman, Dan, and Alvin Rhyne, sister Kathryn Pipes.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Grier Rhyne, daughter Glenda Plampin and husband Conrad of Bessemer City, sisters Dene Rhyne of Bessemer City, Frances Griffin and husband Harold of Charlotte; grandchildren Adrian and Eric Parsons, Seth and Lisa Rhyne, Michael and Sophie Huggins, Lindsay Plampin, Jennifer and Danny Sanchez; 5 great-grandchildren.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 6 to 8pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

Glenn's funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 21, 2014 at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City with the Rev. Dick Whitener and the Rev. Wes Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Wesleyan Church Youth Dept. PO Box 682 Bessemer City, NC.
