Hazel Shuford

Hazel Mobley Bowling Shuford, age 92, passed away on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born July 23, 1926 in Cleveland County to the late Marvin Mobley and Georgia Agnes Young Bowling.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Henry "Jim" Shuford; 2 brothers Joe and Gene; and 1 sister Doris.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Runelle Shuford Phillips of Opelika, Al; grandchildren Leigh Anne Hill (J. Michael) of Heflin, Al., Philip T. Bumgardner of Mesa, Az.; great-grandchildren Andrew and Rachel Hill.

Hazel was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bessemer City. She loved her family, cooking, gardening and her various dogs.

A graveside service to celebrate Hazel's life will be held at 3 pm, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating.
