Hazel Vesey

Hazel Whetstine Vesey, 85, passed away on January 25, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living New Hope Road, Gastonia. She was born on October 9, 1931 in Gaston County to the late Otis Pressley and Lela Ford Whetstine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Charles Vesey; and her sisters, Maggie Lutz, Essie Mae Jackson.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Terri Arwood (Tim) of Blacksburg, SC; her brother, Bill Whetstine (Frances); her sisters, Wilma Miller, and Ethel Wells; her grandchildren, Chad, Wade, and Jamie Bagwell; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Hannah, and Gracie.

Hazel retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital and then worked for Hardee's of Kings Mountain for over 20 years.

Her funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 28th, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Dennis Harmon officiating.

Interment will follow Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Her family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
