Helga Shuford

Helga Maria Barr Shuford, 80, of Bessemer City, passed away January 11, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born on January 25, 1936 in Leutershausen Germany to the late Emil and Kathalina Barr.

She was retired from Stabilus.

Helga was survived by her husband Billy Shuford; daughter, Sherry Malac of Bessemer City; sons, Jeffrey Shuford and wife Ann of Bessemer City, Emil Shuford of Blacksburg, SC, Peter Shuford of Bessemer City; brothers, Peter Barr and Theo Barr both of Holland, Germany; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tamara Nichole Shuford.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 13th, 2017 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City with Father Matthew Buettner officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Friday, January 13th, 2017 at the funeral home.
