Ira Dameron

Ira Sylvanus Dameron, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away on June 25, 2015 at Agape Senior Assisted Living in Rock Hill, SC. He was born on July 25, 1926 in Gaston County, to the late Robert Chalmers and Laura Ada Eaker Dameron.

He retired from Wix Corporation, an United States Navy Veteran and was a Deacon and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Bessemer City.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Iris Nichols Dameron; daughter, Elaine D. Anderson of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Missy Turner of Clover, SC and Chuck Anderson of Clover, SC; great-grandchildren, Daniel Seth Turner, Skylar Mae Turner both of Clover, SC; numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his son, Hubert Craig "Buddy" Dameron.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Bessemer City with Rev. Kitty Rankin officiating.

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
