Isabel Starnes

Isabel Ratchford Starnes passed away on Sunday February 15th, 2015 at the age of 93. She was residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Prescott, Arkansas at the time of her death.
Isabel Ratchford Starnes was born in Gaston County, North Carolina to Zeb Ratchford and Sidnie Abernathy Ratchford. She is predeceased by husband, Joe Starnes and brothers: James Kenneth Ratchford, John Winfield Ratchford, and Floyd Nel Ratchford.
Isabel was always extremely proud of her family and was always encouraging each and every one of us to always take care of ourselves and achieve everything that was possible to achieve. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Hal Ford (Barbara) and daughter, Janet Ford Hood (John). She is also survived by four granddaughters, Dana Hood Lail (James Walter Lail, Jr.), Shannon Hood Strimple (Michael), Johna Ford, and Brandy Ford Hollifield (Josh) and also by her great-grandchildren, J.W. Lail, III, John Langdon Lail, Justin Cagle (Megan), Austin Braden, and Levi Hollifield. She always said, "I love my grands".
Isabel was an active member of her community and had several associations that were near and dear to her heart such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the United Methodist Women (UMW).
Visitation will be Saturday, February 21st, 2015 from 10:00-11:00am and Services will be held at 11:00am. Both Visitation and Services will be held at Concord United Methodist Church in Bessemer City, North Carolina.
Burial will be at Landers Chapel, United Methodist Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
Memorials in lieu of flowers should be sent to Concord United Methodist Church in Bessemer City, North Carolina or to Landers Chapel United Methodist Church, Lincolnton, North Carolina.
