Iva Sosebee

Iva Cotter Sosebee, 83, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on Thursday, March 25, 2021, not Covid related. She was born April 12, 1937 in Polk County, TN to the late James Madison Cotter and Leona Trantham Cotter.

She was preceded in death by siblings Evelyn Cunningham, Clyde Cotter, Onabee Welch and Ruby Queen.

Iva was the owner Iva’s Hair Styling in Belmont for many years, she was a barber and barber inspector, as well as a barber instructor. She attended Ranlo Church of God of Prophecy.

Left to cherish her memories are sons Larry Carlisle (Cindy), Scott Evans, and David Sosebee (Donna); grandchildren Adam Carlisle, Ashley Carlisle, Alex Evans (Ashley), David Sosebee (Kursti) and Danielle Sosebee; great-grandchildren Lily Carlisle, Eveleigh Evans, Beckham Evans, Austin Hiscox, Matthew Hiscox, and Grant Sosebee; brothers Paul and Joe Cotter, and many cherished family and friends.

She will lie in state from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Monday, March 29, 2021.

Iva’s funeral service will be held 1:30 PM on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
