Jacqulyn "Jackie" Carpenter Smith, 75, of Bessemer City passed away on January 25, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House. She was born January 29, 1938 in Gaston County, NC, to the late Dewey H. Carpenter and Pauline Boone Carpenter Towery.
Jacqulyn was a member of Ragan Wesleyan Church and worked 27 years for Easco/ Danaher Tool Group. She loved her children, grandchildren, friends and her dog Reese.
She is survived by her son Holland "Chip" Smith, Jr. and wife Lee Ann of Gastonia; daughter Jana Smith Brooks and husband Eric of Dallas; grandchildren Brittany Bradshaw and husband Brian, Tanner Smith, Sommer and Zachary Brooks; sisters Joyce Brown of Gastonia, and Gail Abernathy of Gastonia; step-sister Alice Jean Carpenter and husband Chief of Greenville, SC; step-brother Dr. Dewey H. Carpenter and wife Tina of Coral Springs, Fl.; step-mother Jenny Carpenter of Greenville, SC; numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45years, Holland Pressley Smith, Sr. and sister Pat Johnson Sellers.
Her funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastors Wayne Love and Dick Whitener officiating.
Interment will follow in Westview Gardens Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00-3:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
The family would like to give special thanks to her best friend Janice Williams and to the Robin Johnson House for their care of Jacqulyn.
