James Cogdill

James Lee Cogdill, 78, of Gastonia , passed away on January 1, 2015, at Robin Johnson House, Dallas NC. He was born November 8, 1936 in Jackson County to the late Jake and Otelia Frizzell Cogdill.

James was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea (War)?. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0023 of Gastonia. He retired from Bryant Electric Company as a field supervisor.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Brenda Sessoms Cogdill; sons, daughters Deborah Singletary of Atlanta GA, Jamie Masters of Bessemer City, Tonya Lawrence of Gastonia, Cacy Sharpe of Charlotte; brother, Bob Cogdill of Gastonia; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

James' funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel, Bessemer City with Rev. Bill Mauney officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, with military honors by American Legion of Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the funeral home.
