James Mcentyre

James Eric McEntyre, 40, of Cherryville, passed away on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at home. He was born on April 28, 1975 in Gaston County, to Cheryl Ann Mason Smith of Gastonia and James Dale McEntyre of Bessemer City.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Shantina McEntyre; grandfather, Furman "Bud" McEntyre, Sr.; grandparents, Arlie and Sue Dunn.

James was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville and was a Sargent in the United States Marines Corps. He was a people person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Once you met him you never forgot him. If you were his friend it was for life. He fulfilled his life calling which was to make everyone laugh and smile.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers, Perry Clack of Tulsa, OK, Jamey McEntyre of Cherryville, Thomas Smith of Gastonia; sisters, April Heffner of Sumter, SC, Stephanie McEntyre of Lincolnton, Trish Rimmer of Florida; mother, Vickie Brown of Lincolnton; grandmother, Starlene McEntyre of Bessemer City, special friends Nikki and Seth Via; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm Friday, May 29, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City, NC.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Ken Faulkenbury, Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe, and Rev. Eric Ross officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
