James Gibson

James Crawford "Bud" Gibson, 80, passed away peacefully at Robin Johnson House on Saturday December 24, 2016. He was born on July 23, 1936 in Haywood County to the late James and Carrie Guy Gibson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, one daughter, and two granddaughters.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Gibson; his sons, Timothy James Gibson of Blacksburg, SC, Paul Edward Gibson (Pamela) of Dallas, Jamie McCombs of Bessemer City, his daughters, Mechell Brown (Max) of Dallas, Tina Marie Stallings (Steve) of Lawndale, and April McCombs; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; his sister, Ellie Rhyne, brothers, Paul, Howard, Dan, and Terry Gibson.

Bud was a veteran of the United States Army.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.

His funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the Sisk-Butler chapel with the Rev. Alvin Melton officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Lincolnton
