Jeanette Dixon Grant

Jeanette Dixon Grant, 96, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 21, 2023. She was born February 6, 1927, in Gaston County, to the late James G. Dixon and Nellie Mack Dixon.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Grant; grandson Brandon Grant; 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Jeanette loved the Lord as was evident by her singing all the time. Her greatest joy in life was serving her Lord. She was a charter member of Linwood Church of God (now Epic Church). She loved missions and supporting the work of the Lord. Jeanette was a seamstress who also loved to cross stitch and make crafts for all the children. She enjoyed yard work and all kinds of flowers. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother to her own children and also cared for many others. She worked at Clevemont Mills in Kings Mountain where she retired.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Gary Grant (Kay), Ron Grant (Betty); daughter, Janis Kimble (Nicky); grandchildren, Michelle Scott (David), Dane Grant, Leslie Larkins (Jimmy), Amanda Scott (Greg), Jennifer Dumancas (Tiana); 7 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Gaston Hospice for their care and support during the last 7 months. They also want to thank a special caregiver, Diane Kellar, and special friend, LaVonne McGill, for their loving care of Jeanette.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Jeanette’s funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, with Reverend Tony Franklin officiating.

Interment will be private at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
