Jennie Posey

Jennie Kale "Dean" Posey, 83, of Gastonia, passed away January 1, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gaston County to the late Clyde Vance Kale, Sr. and Minnie Dale Kale.

Dean was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church for 59 years where she was a member of Wesleyan Women, chairperson of the Communion Committee, and member of Home Builders Sunday School class. She was vice-president of Best Years Fellowship at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Vernon Posey; children, Judy D. Stewart, Toni S. Widener and husband Tony, John William Stewart Jr. "Billy", and Randy L. Deal all of Gastonia; grandchildren, Ashley Celiz, Courtney and Katy Nelson, Jody, Robbie and Dirk Widener, Derek, Brandi and Carly Stewart, Jennie Deal, Lori and Ana Parnell; step-grandchildren, Terry S. Posey and Brandon L. Posey; number of great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie and Johnny Kale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Deal; brothers, C. V. Kale, Jr., William G. Kale, Roland C. Kale, Davis H. Kale, Oscar Ferris Kale; sisters, Elizabeth Kale Romary, Star Kale Huffstetler, Jane Kale Wilkes, Lucille Kale Thomas; granddaughters, Shannon Lee Stewart Brown, Lisa Lynn Forster.

Dean's family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 to 2:45 pm at Firestone Wesleyan Church.

Her funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Wes Brown and Rev. Roger Parsons officiating.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Home Builders Sunday School Class.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
