Jerry Dean Green

There was hope in the midnight hour as Jerry Dean Green peacefully took his last breath on Tuesday and entered the Kingdom of Heaven. He was born May 1, 1948, in Sylva, NC before moving to Bessemer City, NC where he grew up and raised his family.

He loved his family and cherished the times spent with them, especially at South Mountain. Jerry was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, camping, and gardening but his greatest love was fly fishing. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army, in the Vietnam War, from 1968-1970. Jerry retired from Bellsouth (AT&T) after working as a lineman for 34 years.  

Jerry loved the Lord and even in sickness and his final days, he was a witness to all who knew him. His joy and trust in the Lord never wavered.   

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Willa Mae Green, wife of 30 years, Vickie Green and brother, Steve Green. 

Survivors: wife of 12 years, Debbie Green, son, Michael (Kim) Green, daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Gantt, Amy (Jason) Kelly, Dana (James) Phillips, Amy (Tim) Bibby

Grandsons, Clint Gantt, Carson and Cole Kelly, John Michael and Lincoln Green Granddaughters, Emily Phillips, and Caroline Bibby Brother, Milton Green and sister, Linda Dyer

Officiating Clergy: Pastor Leroy Mobley and Pastor Steve Fain

Arrangements and service will be held at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, 730 Gastonia Hwy, Bessemer City, NC 28016. Interment, Westview Gardens Cemetery, 1123 Edgewood Rd, Bessemer City.
