Jim Shaw

Jim Konstanty Shaw Sr. of Gastonia, NC, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at home.
He was born August 12, 1950 in Mecklenburg county to the late Henry Shaw and Hazel Newman Shaw Brewster.

Jim was previous Owner/Operator of Spencer Mountain Grocery where he retired in 2011. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He loved doing his lawn work, and took great pride in having the best yard in the neighborhood. He loved sitting in his carport every afternoon watching the children play and talking to the neighbors. No matter where you saw Jim you would see his dog Abby truly this man's best friend.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother Mike Shaw and sister Judy Turlington.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Baxter, four children Jim Jr. & wife Lori of Dallas,
Kim and husband Mark Johnson of Cramerton, Kelly and husband Matt Horton of Mount Holly and Stephanie Shaw of Belmont. Three stepchildren Dana and husband Daniel Allen of Belmont, Chris Baxter of Gastonia, Scott Baxter of Belmont. Brother Bill Shaw and wife Betty of Florida, sister Linda Saucedo of Oregon, and one half-sister Joann Tennant of Charlotte. 11 grandchildren: Drew, Libby, Sam, Hannah, Mattie, Chandler, Cayden, Justin, Allyson Brittany and Heather.


Jim's funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Sisk-Butler in Bessemer City with the Rev Odell Cook and the Rev. Allen Lefler officiating.

The family will receive friends 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home,

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
