Joanne Caldwell

Joanne Thompson Caldwell, 69, of Bessemer City passed away on November 9, 2013 at home. She was born September 17, 1944 in Anderson County, SC, to the late George W. and Sybil Tippins Thompson.

Joanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was also a member of Gospel Light Holiness Church, Gastonia.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her brother, George Thompson.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years John Melvin Caldwell; sons Dean Caldwell and his wife Angie of Lowell, Scott Caldwell and his wife Elaine of Clover, Tony Caldwell and his wife Rhonda of Gastonia, Gary Caldwell of Clover, Shane Caldwell of Bessemer City; daughters Terri Toney and her husband Charles of Dallas, Rhonda Rhinehart and her fiancé Steve of Clover; brothers Robert, Clifford, Danny, and Charles Thompson; sisters Shirley Stevens, Faye Bradley, Cathy Lucas, and Dale Baker, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to, not only her sister, but her best friend Shirley and her husband Tommy.

Joanne's family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services.

Her funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Willard officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
