John Caldwell

John Melvin Caldwell, 73, of Bessemer City, passed away on Thursday April 9, 2015 at home. He was born December 19, 1941 in Gaston County, to the late John and Beatrice Warren Caldwell.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Joanne Thompson Caldwell.

He is survived by his sons Dean Caldwell and his wife Angie of Bessemer City, Scott Caldwell and his wife Elaine of Clover, Tony Caldwell and his wife Rhonda of Gastonia, Gary Caldwell (June) of Clover, Shane Caldwell and wife Jackie of Lowell; daughters Terri Toney and her husband Charles of Dallas, Rhonda Rhinehart and her fiancé Steve of McConnells, SC; brothers Ronnie Caldwell and wife Linda, Don Caldwell and wife Diane; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services.

Melvin's funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. James Drennan and the Rev. Jerry Willard officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
