John Gimpel

John Carl Gimpel, 81, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Atrium Health, Kings Mountain. He was born on February 13, 1938 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to the late Philip and Margaret Altmeier Gimpel.

He retired from Dana Corporation after 30 years of service and was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Services. John was a professional musician who played multiple instruments for over 40 years.

John was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will forever be in our hearts.

John was preceded in death by his wife Rose Marie Heritz Gimpel and brother Philip Gimpel.

Left to cherish his memories are his son Jack Gimpel and wife Jackie of Kings Mountain; daughters Victoria Hobart and husband David of Leicester, NC, Constance Ray and Ron Little of Lancaster, SC; brother Jack Gimpel and wife Herta of Ontario, Canada; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren,

John’s funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 14, at Kings Mountain Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating.

His visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
