John Heffner

John David “JD” Heffner, 77, went home to be with the Lord at Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain on Friday May 21, 2021. He was born May 20, 1944 in Gaston County to the late John and Vangie Sharp Heffner.

JD was a member of Ragan Wesleyan Church and he was veteran of the United States Navy. JD was a member of Bessemer City American Legion Post 243 and was retired from Duke Power.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years Liz Heffner; sons, Chris Heffner, and Trey Heffner; grandchildren, Brittany Bell (Justin); Michael Heffner, Christy Lewis (Dylan); brothers, Bob Heffner, and Dean Heffner; sisters, Frances “Sis” Biddington, and Pat Absher; and 7 great-grandchildren.

JD's Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Ragan Wesleyan Church with Rev. John Harper officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
