Johnny Bryan Featherston, Sr., 88, passed away at Robin Johnson House on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. He was born July 2, 1932 in Mecklenburg County to the late Charles Jennings Featherston and Lettie Kathleen Lennon Featherston.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo Grant Featherston; daughter Teresia “Candy” Calhoun; siblings Betty Blackburn, Myrtle Meeks, JC Featherston, Roland Featherston, and Mollie McDaniel.
Johnny served in the Navy on the USS R.E. Kraus 1951-1955 during the Korean War.
Left to cherish his memories is his son Johnny Bryan Featherston, Jr. (Tammy); daughters Diane Puccio (Don) and Pamela Quinn (Kenny); siblings Ruby Wallace, Sally Rhyne, Ann Albright McCoy, Lila Perkins, Brenda Helms, and Playto Featherston (Sandra); grandchildren Steve Brandon (Amy), Christina Smith (Brian), Randy Johnson (Stephanie), Christopher Murray (Carol), Jessica Rossomano (Anthony), Emily Taylor, Bryan Featherston (Anna), Joshua Taylor (Jessica), and Matthew Featherston; great grandchildren Caydin Wooten, Adysin Taylor, Elizabeth Rossomano, Mack Johnson, Molly Johnson, and Levi Johnson; close friends Cat Staley, Jr. Adams, Jr, Holt, Gary Huffstetler, and Vergin Lindley.
He will lie in state from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at Sisk Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
Johnny’s graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Dan Oedy of Southminster Presbyterian Church.
