Jonathan Scott Bolton

Jonathan Scott Bolton, age 60, of Kings Mountain passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Atrium Health in Cleveland County. He was born on November 24, 1963, to Lloyd “Clayton” Bolton and the late Myrtle Whetstine Bolton. Jon loved his family especially his grandchildren. But his heart and focus for his life was being a fire fighter. He volunteered at Oak Grove Fire Department, training rookies, and achieved as many certificates as possible to better himself to help others. He was not afraid to go into the fire, even when no one else would. Jonathan had no fear and would put his life on the line for anyone. His boys remember watching their dad fight fires and remember it as the best time of his life.

Along with his mother, Jonathan is preceded in death by his brother Jeffery Lee Bolton.

Those left to cherish his memory along with his father include his sons Rodger and Joseph Bolton; daughter Lisa Bolton Cooper; sister Cynthia Guin; and grandchildren Khonlee, Billy, Madison, Rylen, & Azayla Bolton and Kera Cooper; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There are no formal funeral arrangements planned. Inurnment will be with the family.
