Judith Scoggins

Judith Lee Baker Scoggins 74, formerly of Gastonia, went to be with her Lord on September 24, 2015. She was born August 21, 1941 in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Richard K. and Carol Hullinger Baker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Allen Scoggins and her sister, Diane Aldridge.

Judie was a 1959 graduate of Muskegon, MI, Senior High School and later moved to North Carolina in 1976. She retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital after 13 years of service. Judie has been a member of First Assembly of God, Gastonia, since 1981. She lived her life by God's Word and was an ambassador for Christ wherever she went. Her desire was to glorify God in all she did. The family wishes to thank Janet and Eugene Rosser and Mandy Scoggins for their loving care of Judie.

She leaves behind her children, Edward Scoggins and wife Beverly, Jim Scoggins and wife Jeannie, David Scoggins and wife Mandy, and Rita Horton and husband Gene; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Baker and wife Bev, and Rick Baker; brother-in-law, Art Aldridge; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at First Assembly of God, Gastonia, with the Rev. Dennis Boyce and Dr. L. J. Barnes officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:30-1:45 before the funeral at the church.

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
