Julia Pennington

Julia Irene Killian Pennington, 71, of Gastonia ,went home to be with her Lord on August 18, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. She was born on June 1, 1943 in Mecklenburg County, to the late John Joseph and Viola Bell Brown Killian.

Julia was a member of Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church in Charlotte. She loved bird and butterfly watching, singing in the church and helping with tent revivals. Julia also loved her grand dog "Honey".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evangelist Namon James Pennington; brother Edward Killian; sisters, Mildred Crump, Betty Helms.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Pennington Guy, Julie Pennington Garrison both of the home, Darlene Ledford of Bessemer City; sister, Nettie Herdman of Lucia; grandchildren, Faith and Hope.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church, Charlotte with Pastor Michael Hedgecoe and Elder James Locklear officiating.

Interment will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville.

Her family will receive friends Friday from 7:00-9:00 pm at the church.
