Kathy Hamrick

Kathy Phillips Hamrick, 73, passed away at Wilkes Health & Rehabilitation on Sunday, April 11, 2021. She was born February 17, 1948 in Gaston County to the late Winston Clyde and Hilda Irene Earney Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Marvin Hamrick and brother Al Phillips.

Kathy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a selfless, passionate woman who would give you the shirt off her back. Kathy was a devoted Christian woman. In her spare time, she would take care of others. She was a homemaker at heart.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Scarlett Kay Hamrick, Susan Hamrick Sykes (Aundrey), and Kellie Hamrick Lafar (Sean); son Kevin Brinegar (Sherry); sister Linda Phillips; grandchildren Kerri Mason, Anthony Mason, Marcus Wallace, Lavar Wallace, Reajean Hamrick, Destinee Gooch, Dillon Gooch, Alan Lafar, and Casey Cummings; 10 great grandchildren; niece Yvonne Robertson; nephew Michael Phillips.

She will lie in state from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Sisk butler Funeral Home on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Kathy’s funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Sisk Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Brinegar officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
