Kenneth Carpenter

Kenneth Roger Carpenter, 80, of Judith Avenue, passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at home. He was born in Gaston County on January 7, 1936 to the late Everette Roosevelt and Bessie Wilson Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Lail Carpenter; brothers, Earl and Melvin Carpenter; sister Evelou Coleman and an infant sister.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Roger Carpenter and wife Lynn of Belmont; his daughters, Karen Carpenter and Kristy Carpenter of the home. He also is survived by his brother Carl Carpenter and wife Virginia of Gastonia; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was a retired supervisor from Robinson Mills of Dallas. He was also an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

His funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday June 24, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. James Drennen officiating.

Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
