Larry Burleson

Larry Joe Burleson, 68, of Bessemer City, passed away on February 28, 2014 at home. He was born March 2, 1945 in Gaston County to the late Archie and Marie Grindle Burleson.

Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was retired from the City of Gastonia Solid Waste Department after 25 years.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gwen Burleson; sons Brent Burleson & wife Kathy and Vince Burleson & wife Lorie all of Bessemer City; sister Judy Thornburg of Hartwell Georgia; Grandchildren Gavin, Anna, Garrett, Abby, and Hayden.

His graveside service will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Wise officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:15 PM Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother Jerry Burleson.
