Larry James Chastain, Sr

Larry James Chastain, Sr, 75, of Dallas, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 8, 2024. He was born September 11, 1948, in Rabun County, GA to the late Ray John Chastain and Margie Elizabeth Pope.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hilton Chastain; brothers, Homer Chastain, Jerry Chastain, David Chastain, Tommy Chastain; sister, Linda Miller.

He took pride in making a garden, so he could share his many vegetables. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a member of South Gastonia Freewill Pentecostal Holiness Church, and he loved his church family. A special thank you to Hot Rod for your love and care.

Left to cherish his memories are son, Larry Chastain, Jr (Laura); daughters, Debbie Bridges (Steve), Loretta Towery (Bobby), Donna Gosnell (Bobby); brothers, Bobby Chastain (Lisa), John “Pebbles” Chastain (Jackie); brother-in-law, Tony Hilton (Juanita); 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 01:45 PM at South Gastonia Pentecostal Freewill Church on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Larry’s Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to American Cancer Association or to

Hospice of Gaston County.
