Laura Connor

Laura Mae Beaver Connor, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Summit Place Assisted Living of Kings Mountain. She was born November 5, 1924 in Cherokee County, NC, daughter to the late Ausborn Columbus and Eva Norma Lee Marmie Stiles Beaver Woods.

Mae was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastonia. She retired from AB Carter after 18 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Curtis "JC" Connor; grandson Ralph C. "Butch" Huffstetler, Jr.; niece Brooke Beaver.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons MC Huffstetler and wife Joetta, Ralph Huffstetler and wife Delphine all of Clover, SC; daughter Marian Ogden and husband James of Gastonia; brother Lloyd Beaver and wife Dodi of Gastonia; grandchildren Pam, Mark, Donna, Tina, Toni, Curtis; great-grandchildren Rendi, Trent, Michaela, McKenzie, Sarah, Jordan, Jonathan, Kristen, Jaycee, Lauren, Jarron, Amanda; great-great-grandchildren Gracie, Maloree, Joseph, Malaki, Addibeth, Payton, Braylen, Liam, Brayden, Braedon, Kali, Zane; special nephew Clint Beaver; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Mae's funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the church with Rev. Bob Cloninger and Rev. Doug Cooper officiating.

Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum.
