Lemma Hedrick

Lemma Robinson Hedrick, 96, of Gastonia, NC passed away peacefully at Alexandria Place on Saturday, January 15, 2022. She was born December 28, 1925, in Cherokee County, North Carolina, to the late Jim and Sally Elizabeth Grindstaff Robinson.

In addition to her parents, Lemma is preceded in death by her children, Jerry Robinson, Eddie Robinson, Judy Robinson, and Charles Hedrick; brothers, Andy, Claude, Lloyd, and Bob; sisters, Juanita, Louise, Frances, Jane, and Dorothy.

Lemma was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardening and canning. Lemma loved deeply and she would go out of her way to show that love to family, friends and anyone in need.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Agee Hedrick (Trish), Glenn Hedrick, and Sheila Porch (Mark); brothers Amos Robinson and Clarence Robinson; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.

Lemma’s funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Forrest Hennessee officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff at Alexandria Place for their love and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or to Landmark Baptist Church Mission Fund.
