Lewis Charles Phillips, 77, of Bessemer City, passed away on August 13, 2015. He was born on September 20, 1937 in Gaston County to the late Roy and Neva Willis Phillips.
He was also preceded in death by a son, David Christopher Phillips; brothers, Tom, Frank, Howard, Bill and Lawrence Phillips; sisters, Ruby Helms, Betty Lefevers, Louise Gore, Beulah Mitchell, and Murial Norwood.

Lewis was a member of Generation Church on Neal Hawkins Road in Gastonia. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 34 years, Angela Phillips; children, Kay Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, Lisa Haynie, Jerry Phillips, Steven Phillips, Damian Phillips; stepdaughter, Aimee Cook; stepson, Clark Nalley; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Phillips; a number of nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Generation Church in Gastonia with Pastor Charles Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with military rites by the Rock Hill VFW Post 2889 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2015 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
