Linda Sharon Barnett, 63, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on April 12, 2022. She was born on July 28, 1958, in Hampton, VA, to the late William Dallas and Laura Ellen Ogle Burton.
Linda lived her life as an amazing, devoted and loving wife of 44 years, a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.
Linda loved family get togethers, and was known to be the instigator of many of the family's infamous food fights. Christmas was always her favorite holiday. Besides going overboard on the decorations, Linda enjoyed playing Santa. She had to be the one to hand out the presents and would tackle anyone who tried.
Linda loved animals, whether they were family pets or neighborhood strays. She could never let any of them go hungry and made sure all of the strays were taken care of and loved.
Linda's passion for calm and relaxation led her to her love of camping. She enjoyed camping, whether it was in a tent or a camper. She loved the tranquility of nature and sitting by the campfire at night.
Linda's adventurous side brought out the "biker mama" in her. She loved putting on that helmet, jumping on her Harley Davidson Sportster and hitting the open road.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Bowen and Marion Ward.
Left to celebrate her memory is her husband, Dywayne E. Barnett; children, Christi Pittman (John Ragan), Robbie Smith (Katie), Nikki Carroll (Christopher), Dywayne H. Barnett (Vickie Smith), and Christopher Kirkham; grandchildren, Angel Back (Ruby Brahim), Jordan Carroll, Alyssa Smith, Andy Pittman, and Gavin Ragan; and sister Terry Strickland (Scott).
Linda's Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
