LONA JOHNSON HANEY



Lona Elizabeth Johnson Haney, 82, passed away August 17, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 25, 1930, in Gaston County to the late William and Sallie Bible Johnson.



Lona loved her grandchildren, working puzzles and gardening where she always had a green thumb.



She is survived by her son, Ralph E. Johnson of Blacksburg, SC; daughter, Sara Walker and husband Ronald of Gastonia; sisters Delsie Wray of Gastonia and Rachel Gonzales of Smithfield, NC; 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Jones B. Conner.



Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at South Gastonia Church of God with Revs. Bobby Gilley and Sam Barnett officiating.



Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.



Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the church.
