LORIN  SUMMITT



Lorin Colby "L.C." Summitt, 75, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 13, 2013, at Robin Johnson House, Dallas.  He was born August 10, 1937 in Marion County, SC to the late William Franklin Brian and Edna McDaniels Summitt.



Lorin served in the United States Marines and he attended Carson Memorial Baptist Church, Crowders Mountian.



He is survived by his son, Prince Lorin "P.L." Summitt and wife Sharon of Bessemer City; daughter, Deanna Martin and husband Charles of Bessemer City; sister, Ginny Boatwright of Gastonia; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild.



He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Johnson Summitt; brother, William Franklin Brian Summitt, Jr.; sisters, Edna Loraine Summitt, Tina Whitting, Kallie Mae Shewtzuk, Carolyn Gosnell.



Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bessemer City with Rev.Scott Whitener officiating.



Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.



The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
