Loy Overcash

Gastonia, North Carolina

Loy Franklin Overcash, 67, of Cramerton, passed away on January 10, 2013, at his residence.  He was born November 28, 1945 in Gaston County to the late Loy Patrick and Ocie Smith Overcash.



Loy served his country in the United States Army in Viet Nam.  He was owner and operator of Overcash Used Automobiles for over 35 years and he loved to play poker.  Loy will be missed by all who knew him.



He is survived by his daughter, Paula O. Harrison and husband Ron of Belmont; son, Mark McCaskill and wife Laura Jo of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Joshua Harrison and wife Megan, Anna Summitt (honorary), Mia and Maddie McCaskill; sisters, Alice Walker and husband Allen of Gastonia, Judy Ray and husband Doug of Bessemer City; great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Harrison



He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine "Tip" Overcash.



Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City with Rev. Walter Griggs officiating.



Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.



The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
