Lula Leonard

Lula Lee Falls Leonard, 87, of Bessemer City, passed away on March 26, 2013, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lincolnton. She was born June 1, 1925 in Gaston County, to the late Phillip Crowder and Charity Huffstler Falls.

Lula was a member of First Baptist Church, Bessemer City. She was active in her church work, music and ceramics. Lula was also a member of V.F. W. Auxiliary. She retired from Lions Manufacturing and formerly was employed by Bull Frog Knits and other sewing plants.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clarence Leonard; son, Jimmy Dewitt Peterson, Jr.; brothers; Fort Sumter Falls, Vance Oliver Falls, Arnold Richard Falls, Calvin Sylvester Falls, Fred Homer Falls; sisters, Lois Roberts, Melvin Hager, Ossie Peterson.

She is survived by step-daughter, Dianne Hoyt of Winter Park, Fla; step-son, Bobby Leonard of Broken Arrow, Ok; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at First Baptist Church, Bessemer City with Rev. Tom Ravan officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends 2:00-2:45 pm Friday at the church.
