Macie Garren

Macie Kay Richards Garren, 82, of Gastonia passed away on January 12, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born October 6, 1931 in Gaston County, NC, to the late Allen and Sarah Falls Richards.

She retired from Firestone-Bridgestone after 24 years of service and "Miss Macie" was presently employed at Hardee's on 321-South for the last 18 years. Her family thanks the staff on 3 South at Caromont Regional Medical Center for their loving care. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Joni Brazell of Gastonia; step-son, Don Cole of Kings Mountain; grandson, Kevin Cochran; step-granddaughter, MaDonna Cole; numerous nieces and nephews; special "Buddie", Sue Cochran.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garren.

Her graveside service will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City with Pastor Robert Thompson officiating.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
