MARGARET   FRANKLIN



Margaret Ward Franklin, 76, went to be with the Lord from her home surrounded by her family and close friends on Thursday, August 30, 2012.  She was born October 29, 1935, in Rutherford County to the late Roy J. Ward, Sr. and Sarah Jane Walker Ward.



Margaret was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bessemer City. She was also a member of the Beautification Image Committee, Garden Club of Bessemer City and Gaston County Election Board. She was involved in many other activities in her community and church. Margaret was co-owner and she retired from Arc Enterprizes.



Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Franklin; four loving children, Rick Franklin and wife Vicky of Kings Mountain, Skip Franklin and wife Diane of Ripley, West Virginia, Tammie Franklin Long of Bessemer City, Jo-D Franklin and wife Melissa of Bessemer City; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy "Butch"  Ward and wife Judy of Dallas; sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" Ward Clary and husband Marshall of Lincolnton, Jane Ward of Quebec, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews; two special family friends, Rob and Maxine Holt of Bessemer City, Randy and Elaine Greene of Lake Norman.



Her funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Weaver and Rev. A. A. Bailey officiating.



The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 Pm Sunday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.
