FRANCES  BUMGARNER



Mary Frances Nix Bumgardner, 73, of Gastonia, died December 4, 2012, at home.  She was born January 15, 1939 in Clarksville, Georgia to the late Arnie and Eva Jones Nix.



Frances was a member of Carolina Community Baptist Church in Lowell. Frances enjoyed fishing, flowers, and going shopping.  She really enjoyed seeing her great-grandchildren and her special feline friend Snowball.



She is survived by her children, Patricia Ballard, Sheila McAteer and husband John, Sheldon Gettys all of Gastonia, Matthew Bumgarner of Dallas, Judy McClure and husband Randy of Hendersonville; sisters and brother, Sara Greene of Wilmont, Lenora Davis of Belmont, Ronnie Nix of Gastonia; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest T. Bumgarner; sister, Ophelia Sappa; brother, Flecther Smith.



Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Carolina Community Baptist Church, Lowell with Rev. Ira Brewster officiating.



Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.



The family will receive friends Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.
