Mary Roberts

Mary Alice Nix Roberts of Lowell passed away on March 15, 2014 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born June 9, 1925 in Pickens County, SC to the late Roy and Thelma Yates Nix.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years George E. Roberts, Sr. and sister Mable Davis.

Mary Alice was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Lowell for 52 years. She moved to Cramerton and worked in Textiles until the birth of her son. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her son, George E. Roberts, Jr. and wife Kathy of Lowell; grandson Trey Roberts and great-grandson Lucas Roberts; brother Reymous Nix; sister Margaret Cabe.

Mary Alice's funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Walt Griggs officiating.

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
