Maxine Flowers

Maxine Goins Flowers, 80, passed away on Monday May 11, 2015 at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN. She was born November 19, 1934 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Boyce E. Goins Sr. and Rosaleen Hudson Goins. Bessemer City was her home for all but the last few months of her adult life. Illness made it necessary to join her daughter and son in law in Clarksville, TN - her last earthly home.

Retired after many years working in the Quality Control Atlantic Spinning field, she continued to work in a variety of places for the sheer joy of working. However, her greatest joy was always her family. Mother's day 2015 was her last full day on this side of life surrounded by her daughter, granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Ray Flowers; daughter Raelene and husband Rey Velez; sisters Karen Moss and Diane Wellmon of Kings Mountain, NC; brother J.W 'Jake' Goins of Brevard, NC; granddaughters Serena Drinkwater and Melody Skernivitz and six great grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday May 16, 2015 at the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain (COL) Reinaldo Velez, US Army (Retired) officiating.
