Melissa Foy

Melissa Lawless Foy, 45, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on February 6, 2016.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony and Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Former Pastor Bruce Hobson will be speaking. Burial will be held at a later date to be determined by the family at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

Melissa was born in Gastonia, NC on April 19, 1970. She graduated from Hunter Huss High School and continued on to receive a Business Degree from Miller-Motte College.

Melissa was Married to M. Lee Foy on May 12, 2012; they were married three years and nine months.

Melissa worked as an administrative assistant for Tire Cord USA in Cherryville, NC. She enjoyed reading, the beach, and decorating. She was also actively involved in MADD and Grieving Mothers.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Lee; sons, Gavin Stewart, (son of Gary David Stewart), and Ethan Dennis (son of Joseph D. Dennis); Sibling, Judy Lawless, Deborah Kinley, and Danny Lawless; Mother-in-Law Doris F. Carrigan; Also many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Melissa is preceded in death by her beloved son Gary Daniel Stewart and her mother Althea Bradley Lawless.

She also was blessed with so many friends that loved her and will miss her. She had a smile that would light up a room and an infectious laugh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be given to Gavin Stewart's College Fund. The family of Melissa L. Foy wishes to thank Joseph Dennis, the members of Trinity Church, Pastor Hobson and her friends and their families for their loving care and support.
