Melva Terry

Melva Jeanette Slagle Terry, 87, of Gastonia, passed away on September 23, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. She was born August 5, 1934, in Gaston County to the late William Cecil and Ella Reeves Slagle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Ernest Terry; son, Ernie Terry.

Jeanette attended Faith and Praise Assembly. She formerly worked at Wix’s Filters, RO’s BBQ and Gaston County Schools. Jeanette’s main job was raising her 5 children in a Christian home.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Eddie Terry, Kay Matheney (Harry), Mary Howell (Chip), and Paul Terry (Dana); daughter-in-law Martha Terry; sister, Fayrine Vause; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Jeanette’s funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Faith and Praise Assembly, Ranlo, NC, with Pastors Marie Dunn and John Mayberry officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior the funeral service.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens
