Mildred Huffstetler, 91, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2015 at home. She was born on January 19, 1924 in Gaston County, to the late Charles Howard and Margaret Ann Neil Huffstetler.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Huffstetler; daughter-in-law, Linda Ledford Huffstetler; brothers, Charles V. Huffstetler and Ralph N. Huffstetler; sister, Vera Laughridge; and a bonus son, Billy Joe Stone.
Mrs. Huffstetler was a lifelong member of Olney Presbyterian Church. She was employed at Efrids for many years and retired from Matthews Belk after 30 years of service.
She is survived by her son, James Craig Huffstetler and Cindi Withers; granddaughter, Susan Lovelace and husband, Curt; grandson, Craig Huffstetler and wife, Susan; great-granddaughters, April and Elizabeth Roper, and Abbi Huffstetler; great-grandsons, Hunter and Alex Huffstetler; great-great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Henley and Zoey Armstrong; great-great-grandson, Aydan Shaw; bonus sons, Ronnie Robinson and wife, Terri and Mark Stone and wife, Martha; special caregiver, Rebecca Cope; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Simmons officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
