Norman Johnny Panter, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away at his residence on December 2, 2022. He was born April 2, 1934, in Cherokee County, NC to the late John David Panter and Nancy Harris Panter.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Ann Brunett Panter; brothers, Cliff Painter, Rev. Edward Painter, Rev. Carl Painter; and sister, Pauline Burton; fur-baby Keeley.
PawPaw loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family, listening to southern gospel music, being outdoors, gardening, sitting on his porch, tinkering in his building or just piddlin. PawPaw enjoyed long phone calls, remembering the old days when times were simple.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Anna Barbee, John Panter, Paul Panter, Lisa Panter, Alice Queen, Matthew Panter; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren and his fur-baby Oscar.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Freewill Church of Jesus Christ.
Norman’s funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Freewill Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Judd Burnett and Rev. Jimmy Cash officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
