Pastor Michael "Shane" Reese

Pastor Michael “Shane” Reese, 49, of Gastonia, went home with the Lord Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Catawba Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1973, in Mecklenburg County, to Jack Leonard Reese Sr. and Deloris “Dee” Hensley Reese.  

He is preceded in death by sister, Kim Reese Dudley; and brother, Jackie Reese Jr.; 

Shane was a great man of GOD and was so anointed in preaching the WORD. We loved the word PASTOR because we were taught in ministry, a pastor walks in the good and the bad, the peaceful and the danger zones of life just as Jesus guards and guides His sheep. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing trips with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. 

He was unsurpassable in being a husband, father, and son and never shied away from helping his family which included poopy diapers, feeding, and bathing his boys. He was a true partner and helpmate. He was blessed by GOD and favored with many skillsets and talents. Everything he put his hands too flourished.

Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Tracy McAllister Reese; sons, CPL Christian David Reese and wife, Chara, Caleb Ashton Reese and fiancé, Gracie, and Jeremy Benaiah Reese; brother, Freddie Reese and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Asher Reid Maziarz-Reese, Gabriel Ashton Reese, Alden Cohen Reese; nieces and nephews, Matthew Dudley, Jackie Leonard Reese III, Dalton Wade Reese, Kaileigh Fulghum, Logan Reese, Morgan Reese, and Austin McAllister  

Shane’s Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Connections Church, Belmont with Pastor Robert Thompson and Pastor JoAnn Blackman officiating. 

His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
