Pastor Michael Hedgecoe

Pastor Michael J Hedgecoe, 55, passed away at Atrium Health Main - Charlotte on Saturday, February 6, 2021. He was born July 28, 1965 in Mecklenburg County to the late Gilbert and Patricia Kay (Haley) Hedgecoe.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela “Angie” Warlick.

Pastor Mike was the founder of Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church, which was founded in 1995 in his living room and has grown to be a worldwide ministry. He was ordained in the Gospel in late 1995 by his presiding Bishop Cade Burns of the Church of Jesus Christ Lenoir, NC, whom he loved and cherished. He leaves behind church family in Africa, Philippines, India, Russia and many saints of the US. He traveled the country from coast to coast preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was not ashamed of the name and baptism of Jesus Christ according to Acts 2:38.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister, Donna Rush and fiancée Bobby Chavis of Laurinburg; brother, Gilbert Hedgecoe, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Hickory; son, James “Papa” Locklear and wife Marsha of Mt Holly; granddaughter, Leandriea “Pooh” Locklear of Mt Holly; great-nephews, Josh and Nathaniel Russell, Jeremiah Locklear; great-niece, Mackayla Russell; 2 beautiful goddaughters, Alazne, Arabella and a host of other godchildren that he loved dearly; many nieces and nephews; dear friends, Michael Chavis, Bishop Sergeant, Tammy Lowe, Patricia Dugger, Clardell Locklear; his self-adopted mother, Joan Martin; special adopted sister, Gail Smith; and many brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.

He will lie in state from 6:30 PM – Until at Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Pastor Mike’s homegoing service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Jesus Christ Full Gospel Church with a host of Brotherhood Ministers and M/C James Locklear, Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.
