Peggy Barton

Peggy Capps Barton, 74, formerly of Bessemer City, went home on April 13, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, and she is at peace. She was born May 12, 1938 in Gaston County, to the late Joseph Meek and Pearl Ramsey Capps.

Staying behind are her daughter, Melissa Costner and husband Willie; granddaughters, Brooke Abernethy and Ashley Abernethy; step-granddaughters, Amanda Costner and Tiffany Costner; step-grandson, Billy Costner and wife Ashley; twelve great-grandbabies; sister, Betty Grant; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Abernethy; husband and others.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home.
