Phillip Arrowood

Rev. Phillip Dean Arrowood, 78, of Bessemer City, passed away July 19, 2012, at Peak Resources, Cherryville.  He was born June 17, 1934 in Mecklenburg County, to Virginia Davis Arrowood of Belmont and the late Clyde Arrowood.



Rev. Arrowood was retired from Wix-Dana after 26 years of service and he served in the United States Navy.  He was a Sunday school teacher, deacon and an ordained Baptist minister.  Rev. Arrowood was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Gastonia.



A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Westview Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Millwood and Rev. David Ross officiating.



Interment will follow at Westview Gardens with full military rites by Bessemer City American Legion Honor Guard.



Visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.



He is survived by his  wife, Josie Lee Hoyle Arrowood; son, Jason Arrowood and wife Danielle of Cherryville; brother, James Arrowood of Florence, SC; sisters, Mildred Fischer, Connie Arrowood  both of  Belmont;  grandchildren, Bryson and Dakota Arrowood.



He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Stone.
